Unfortunately, it is not only college tuition costs that are rising. It seems even pizza is going to cost more this fall. According to a recent article in The Cape Cod Times in Massachusetts, cheese costs are on the rise. Philadelphia Pi - Pizza Recipe

The Pizza Crust
Pizza and Pajamas suggests purchasing pizza dough from your local pizzeria or supermarket. If you would like to make your own pizza dough, here are two recipe recommendations. The first is a gluten-free dough mix for individuals who are sensitive to wheat that can be ordered from Amazon.com Gluten-Free Dough . Philadelphia Pi's Secret Pizza Sauce

2 tablespoons – very good olive oil
6-10 garlic cloves – minced
1 small garden onion – finely chopped
6 med/lg Jersey Tomatoes
12-15 fresh basil leaves
¼ tsp chili powder
½ tsp sea salt
8 oz of fresh mozzarella – thinly sliced
HONEY (about a tablespoon)


Heat oil in medium saucepan, saute garlic and onion 3-5 minutes until soft and slightly crisp. Remove from heat. Chop tomatoes, drain and discard seeds. Add chopped tomatoes, fresh basil leaves, chili powder and sea salt to garlic/onion mixture. Let sauce marinate at room temperature for at least 2 hours or longer.

Prepare pizza dough. Top with Philadelphia Pi's pizza sauce – then drizzle our secret ingredient HONEY in a clockwise direction onto the sauce. Top sauce with fresh mozzarella. Bake in a hot oven, 425-450 degrees for 8-10 mins until crust is brown and crisp and cheese is melted.
